Edit, export self contained movie w/ current settings.

Take movie to Compressor, encode for YouTube to their specs. Encode m2v and ac3 for DVD authoring.

Get out of HDV as soon as possible. Capture as ProRes 422.

It is recommended that you stay away from HQ, there have been capture and rendering associate with it and there is not a huge benefit in quality.

Setting need to match for frame rate and frame size.

Be careful when using ProRes 422. An hour of HDV takes up about 13GB of space where ProRes 422 takes about 65GB of space. Also, HDV’s data rate is 3.75MB/sec versus ProRes 422 at 27.5MB/sec. If you system can handle those two things, then ProRes 422 is superior in all other ways.
