I’m trying to find the best hardware to get the best final render times directly from AE.

I’ve made a lot of research and tests, but still think it could improve.

I’m right now using a 8700k with 48GB DDR4 2666mhz, with 4x SSD and a 1080ti (which is useless for the kind of projects I handle):

    SSD 1: OS
    SSD 2: AE
SSD 3: Project and project files
    SSD 4: Cache

    Conditions:

    *Must use AE CC 2018
*Must render from AE (not media encoder)
*Must render in AfterCodecs (h.264 mp4)
    *Can’t use RenderGarden
*Can’t use farm rendering since it’s only for image sequence, not final renders

Do you think a 9900k would make a difference? More RAM?

How can I improve final render times?

[Sergio Cabrera] “*Must render from AE (not media encoder)
*Must render in AfterCodecs (h.264 mp4)”

Why? You can get way better quality H264 outside AE.

Rendergarden etc. does have a feature that will automatically transcode the image sequence to a single file. Or you could set up a watch folder.

I didn’t know that Rendergarden have such feature, do you know if I can get the final render in .mp4 automatically from rendergarden?

Ok, tried Rendergarden, it doesn’t work for me, I render from a script and there’s no way (at least that I know) to plant the seeds and avoid Rendergarden dialogs.

Plus, the original rendergarden scripts are encrypted so I can’t modify it to work.

If you need the fastest final render time possible then you will need a server to make a render farm to and render to image sequences. That’s pretty much it.
