    Hey,

Trying to get an HDV movie out of FCP and get the best quality in a file that will play on a PC.

I am not wanting a DVD where I have different audio and video as this will be launched from Powerpoint.

So far I have tried a quicktime movie with H.264 and had no luck. It seems like quicktime is hit or miss. I may just be way off on the compressor type.

I have created AVI files which gets the picture to the screen, but quality is lacking?

I have tools available to me, just not having luck with the right settings. Take your pick:
    Compressor
    Quicktime Conversion
    Sorenson Squeeze

as far as tools to convert with.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Mac.

You are going to want Windows Media file. A .WMV which can be produced using Flip4Mac.com Windows Media encoder.

    OK,
I have got it playing, and have Window Media Encoder on my PC. What I have done is export through Quicktime Conversion to AVI and then it will play the AVI either in QTime or Media Player. The color is still a little crappy.

So do you think using the suggested Flip4Mac product will provide a better result.

.WMV is a better format than .AVI.
