  best footage for a DVD

  We have been shooting our footage with a DVX100A and authoring it to a standard DVD. The footage looks good and it is an easy workflow with Final Cut Studio. We also have a Sony EX1 that can take HD footage. Is there any benefit to shooting with the EX1 rather than the DVX100A? Since it will not be HD on a DVD then maybe we should just keep using the DVX100A? We do not intend to author Blu-ray at this time. Thanks for any advice.
