Hi all – I have a HDV 60i sequence that I want to export now to make a DVD. What is the best export codec to remove the interlacing (footage shot 60i) and retain the highest quality image?

    Thanks!
    Chris

You’ll want to export an FCP reference file and bring that into Compressor.

Then drop the “DVD: Best Quality 90 min” settings onto the file in Compressor. There should be 2 settings – an .ac3 for audio and an .m2v for video.

Go through the Encoder pane and Frame controls pain and set everything to “Progressive” and “Best” wherever applicable.

It’s probably not necessary to deinterlace your video though…
