    What NLE are you using? DNxHD is great for Avid, that’s the codec Avid created. ProRes works too, Avid supports that. And ProRes is great in FCX, because it’s an Apple codec, and FCX is an Apple application. As for Adobe…which hasn’t made their own codec (that might be a good thing), likes both. You an edit native, but it’s much easier on the sytem if you convert. And ProRes or DNxHD are good options. Many choose DnxHD as it’s more universal between Mac and PCs…PC’s cannot write ProRes without expensive third party applications.
