Best Betacam deck for capturing into FCP via KonaLHe
I have a few 8 year old BetaCAM SP tapes I need to capture into FCP via my Kona LHe card. I sold my BetaCAM SP deck some years ago. Which deck is best for capturing and has the best drop out compensation? I have heard that the Digital Betacam decks are best. Is the BVW series Betacam SP good enough? Is the Sony J-3/30 a good choice?

J-30 is a great choice…what we use when we need to injest Beta and Digibeta.

I have owned a J3/902 for about 5 years or so now and it’s just a solid workhorse. BetaSP, DigiBeta, BetaSX and IMX all fed via SDI into our kona systems. Can’t recommend this deck enough.
