Best Audio Settings for Use with Sound Devices MixPre-D
For anyone who may be using a Sound Devices MixPre-D with the BMCC, could you give me your audio settings through the line? I.E., where gain generally lives on the MixPre, where gain generally lives on the camera, Mic/Line going into camera?
I set it up for the first time last night and I want to use line into the camera but to get anything clear I’ve had to pump the gain in the camera to 100% and had to bump up the headphone output to 100% as well.
I just feel like I’m not doing something right.
Thoughts?

Hi Matthew: I have an original-version MixPre, not the newer MixPre-D, so the settings might be different. Refer to the notes on the Vimeo page for the setting I used for this BMCC ProRes HQ Video/Rec.709 gamma video:
