    Lots of time 🙂

A good particle generator such as particular, motion tracking, 3d stroke, and again, lots of time….. Some of the elements seem quite easy, some would require some rotoscoping and serious 3d compositing. You see that when the magazines are in the had that the movement doesn’t match perfectly…I like it that way, kind of looks more crazy.

Ok…So he is doing the actions with his hands even know there is not any actual piece of paper in his hands? Then the “paper” is being created in AE?

I get the color stuff in the beginning that its done with Particular, but are all the pictures done in the same way?

This would not have been done all in AE. One or more 3D apps would have been used as well.

Nothing has to be done all with one app, or all the same way.

Would it be possible to do it all in AE? I would imagine that using a 3d app would be easier for some parts, I’m just trying to get an understanding on what the process was, Where would they of used a 3d app? for the paper?

    tb5821,

Before you asked, how is this commerical done, ask yourself, how many people do you think worked on this project. Do you think that one person scribbled up some ideas and two week later, you get a commerial?

There was a lot of planning that went into the project, way before it hit the production floor, even before pharell was aware of the fact that he was doing the commerical, so with that in mind, do a lot of prep work before you attempt to sit at the computer. (sorry for the huge, run on sentence)

I know that last two paragraph didn’t answer your initial question, but to get into it, AE was not the only software used to create that project. It might have been apart of it, but I am sure the project was done on high end software like shake and maybe on some of the graphical elements, on AE.

I think it’s important to understand what each software is capable of doing, and then figure out how the software would be utilized in certain areas of the commerical.

Good luck and start planning. It’s not a one man job
