    Hi,

I want to export 4k footage with the best possible quality, to play it on 4k tv (which I do not owe unfortunately). It is my first time doing this and I am not sure about export settings, so few questions:
Is it possible to play it from USB disk connected?
If yes, is h264 the best codec for this scenario? Or can I get some better quality with another settings? If yes, please advice – I will appreciate.

[Mike Poliskey] “Is it possible to play it from USB disk connected?”

As long as the TV supports it. Some do, some don’t. If they don’t, then you’ll have to use a computer as the playback, connected to the TV.

    Yup.

You can get better quality, but will it play back? TVs that can play back attached media will do H.264…but won’t do things like ProRes (which is better quality).

You need to read the tv’s manual and see what it can handle.

    Thanks for advice.
I did it with H264 but with cbr of 40 Mbps I get terrible artifacts in some shots. I made some tests and end up with satisfying results by vbr of 60-100. Also exported one version in H265 which works well in this case and I would say maybe better quality than H264 with slightly smaller size.

    Thank you!
