I am a relatively new Final Cut Pro User and would like some advice on what my settings should be. I am making DVD’s for British use (So am asuming Pal is the setting required) but apart from that I have used guess work for my settings, the frame size, aspect ratio, frame rate, pixel aspect ratio, field dominance, compressor,… etc

Also in the system settings in the render control tab the default for frame rate is 50% as is the resolution. Is this why when i play back footage is plays jumpy and grainy. Should I change this to 100% or is at 50% for a reason?

Also, what would you advise as being the best way to export a movie. I’ve been exporting as quick time movies so far but playing them back they don’t seem as good quality as the footage was when editing on the t.v monitor.

Any other advise on how to keep my footage quality when exporting.

    Thanks
    Keith

    Keith,
Easy Setup is your friend. Final Cut Pro>Easy Setup. Then choose the setup you need for PAL.

    Good catch
