Hello, i’m wrestling with something in C4D and Redshift. My 32-bit Beauty AOV doesn’t match my 32-bit RGBA AOV. The Beauty AOV is much brighter and washed out. Does anyone know what I need to do to get it to look like the RGBA Layer? I can get my AOV layers to look like the Beauty AOV, but I’m not sure how to get it to look like the RGBA, which is what I see in the RenderView. Thanks!

    Hello Thompson

You need to make sure to transform the AOVS to ACES space? You need to make sure you apply the ACES SDR ODT at the end of your composite and read in all your AOVS as ACEScg.

you have to tick this option to have match in Render view, and when you render.exr everything will be in the same color space

    Thank you Boston,

I’m tried checking and unchecking the “Apply color processing” checkbox in the AOV manager for each AOV, but the colors still come in wrong. I can now get my AOVs to match the beauty, but the beauty isn’t coming in correctly either. I dug around and it looks like photoshop doesn’t support OCIO transforms. I found this guy’s video on youtube and i’ve been using the old linear workflow, but i’d like to keep the superior results of ACES. His solution to use a different render profile for lookdev versus final render is very frustrating. I’m at a loss of how to get 32-bit ACES images to work in Photoshop. What settings are you using in RS color management and AOV manager and what are you doing to the images when importing into PS? I appreciate your feedback.

Am glad you can now get your AOVs to match the beauty

    That’s a progress

I think the videos below will surely help you understand AOVs , redshift and all

I hope to hear from your end after going through the videos carefully

    Thanks
