batch re-capture from hdv to prores
Hi all,
I’ve just finished the editing process in hdv and now I want to recapture from hdv to prores via firewire. but When I begin the batch capture final cut sais me “Unable to locate timecode”.It seems pretty strage becouse the project consits of 10 hdv tapes and all these don’t work. Moreover the tapes were shooted by professionals cameraman. Footage came from jvc in 720p25
Is a final cut issue or what?

From what I know about ProRes capture via FireWire, batch is not an option. Why don’t you simply change your project’s compressor to ProRes and render it?

Correct ProRes captured via FireWire can only be captured using capture now. This is the one thing preventing me from capturing my projects in ProRes. Currently I capture in HDV & change my render settings to ProRes.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

the problem is that final cut says me “Unable to locate timecode” also if I want to re-capture in HDV.
I have the chance also to capture to prores via Kona Lhe but problem still persist.
I found almost impossible that the crew that shooted the short movie did a mistake over all the tapes (10!!!).
Help me or I think I’ll have to manually batch each tapes in my timeline!! -

If your clips are HDV you don’t have to capture anything, just change the sequence to ProRes and render it.

If I want my master in Prores is ok, but I want to make color correction not in hdv space but in prores and so I want to convert my footage in a better ormat to work with. I hope to make me understand.
