  • Batch processing vs. long file names(more than 32 characters)

How could I turn off Mac OS compatibility during batch processing – I am using Mac. I have many files with long filenames supplied from client and have to keep it as it is. Problem arises during batch saving for web. PS tries to keep filenames 31 characters long. When I have a sequence it screams that file already exists and if replace or not. Of course it happens because until 32 chracters file name is the same and changes later, that’s wht PS has a problem with it.

Has anyone ever had that problem. if yes what would be the solution. Please I have about 3,000 images each image has 6 different sizes (thumbnails, slides, etc) it makes about 18,000 images and most of them have long (more than 32 characters) file names. Imagine going now through all 3,000 images with client, change names, and later ask developer to change the names in HTML.
