  • Batch Monitor got munched in FCP 5 upgrade?

Posted by A.lee on September 6, 2005 at 12:37 pm

    Hi there-

After upgrading to FCP5, I cannot open Batch Monitor. ( It does not open automagically with Compressor, either)

Any idea how to reinstall this utility? or what to do?

“You cannot open the application “Batch Monitor” because it may be damaged or incomplete.”

another strange thing is that it icon for the application looks like it may be wrong.

    tks!!

A reinstall of Compressor from your install disk should fix you up…

thanks for taking the time to reply..I just needed a little kick, I guess. It worked!

I was afraid I’d have to reinstall EVERYTHING..i belive it was broken up into fcp, comp, and liveType.

just a RANT here now, correct me if I’m wrong. but I upgraded from FCP 4.5 to 5 and got “Compressor 2”

The dolby audio encoding is only built in for customers of DVDSP 4 and Final Cut Studio…that is what I read in the Compressor 2 manual, pg. 93

“Note: Dolby Digital Professional encoding with Compressor is available only on computers that also have DVD SP 4 or Final Cut Studio installed. If you are using Compressor with distrubuted porcessing, DVD Studio Pro must be installed on each nodde that will be doing Dolby Digital Professional encoding.”

    WHAT!!!!
    HUH!??

( I only have DVDSP 3..and was not planning on upgrading soon. After deeming the Multicam feature unusable for a lot of my work, I was hoping that the built in AC-3 encoding would be a time saver.. HUH.)

Maybe I just can’t find the preset? It is NOT there..

and of course, I still have A. Pack.

I think I found it or some feature with the dolby encoding. I’ve been up all night. Sorry.
