Batch list to FCP 7 > reconnecting media opposed to batch capture
Hello, I’m writing this away from the office where my MacPro is or else I would test the following & get more in depth:
My client gave me clips (320 x 240) and timecodes, to save time I wanted to make a batch list. In the past I’ve made excel docs where I used client-supplied timecodes and successfully made batch lists, then performed batch captures. My current situation is similar in that I have timecodes, but now instead of using a tape, I have those files. In theory I should be able to reconnect because the clips point to the reel names, correct? Will the 320 x 240 size hinder things or will I be able to pull them into a non-custom sequence, then remove attributes? Looking forward to your thoughts/advice, thanks in advance.

Nope, FCP reconnects based on the file name.
And it only relinks if the number of (QT) tracks are the same.
(iow, if the small clips have one stereo sound track, but the originals have two mono tracks, you need to convert them!)
The resolution is not important!For TC, if there is matching TC, it will use that.
If not, it will relink based on the expected frame offset of the clip start (that normally isn’t good, unless the small files are exactly the same length)So, if the clip names are identical, you’re good.
