    1) If you Batch Capture a clip it either a) Opens the Capture from Tape window or b) Opens Log and Transfer window. I want to override this behavior.

I have a QuickTime ProRes file that were created using Redrushes. For some reason, I can’t use Log & Transfer to bring this file into FCP (Warning, folder contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure), so I simply drag & drop it into a bin (or Import them). This works fine for offline editing.

Now I want to batch capture the sequence to the R3D media. To import R3D media, you use Log & Transfer. However, when I go to Batch Capture the offline imported Redrushes ProRes QuickTimes, it takes me to the Batch Capture (from tape) window.

If I Log and Transfer the R3D files to ProRes using FCP, it works fine and Batch Capture takes me to the Log and Transfer dialog like it should.

So, the question is… how to I get the RedRushes imported QuickTimes to behave the same way?

The answer to why am I using Redrushes is that I want burned in timecode and a resize to 720p.

really? nobody? there are a few threads like this so it seems like a problem many are having.

I really don’t want to have to use crimson for this conform when we’re supposed to be able to do this all from within final cut now.

Maybe you didn’t get the memo, but Apple has removed the PRO from FCP and will be releasing a new version in April called Final Cut Amateur… but it will have no new features, not support 64-bit, and will be delayed for months while they focus on the more profitable iPad and iFork.

Pro Aps is dead. Go buy a Smoke.
