  Batch Capture from P2 creating duplicates/crashing FCP7?

  I’m trying to Batch Capture clip files in FCP7.0.1 from P2 cards. The drive with the originally transcoded DVCPROHD files failed, but I have all the P2 cards. I am having a few ‘issues’:

  1) FCP will only let me ‘Batch Capture’ a maximum of about 20 files at a time or it crashes. I can work around this by only doing a few at a time, but if there’s a way to do them all at once, I’d prefer it. I’ve tried trashing preferences and it hasn’t helped.

  2) The bigger problem is that FCP is transcoding duplicate files of some of the clips and not others. Any clue why this is happening? This is a big project with thousands of clips so I don’t want to manually go through and figure out what duplicates it made.

  Any thoughts/suggestions?
