  • Batch Capture Blues in FCP6 – or is it my camera?

Posted by Mp Nunan on September 20, 2010 at 3:41 pm

    Hello All –

This might perhaps be an issue with my camera, but I’m posting my question here anyway:

It appears that my Sony HD Z1 makes a timecode break every time I button off. (Not power-off, but merely button off between shots.) Therefore, when I try to batch capture, it gets screwed up on the pre-roll, because the time-code is bad.

So I have to “capture all” – which is time-consuming, and uses a lot of hard drive space.

This problem does not happen when I shoot in standard definition in NTSC or Pal.

Is it possible that I’ve got a setting in my FCP6 wrong somewhere? Or is it my camera?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi – thanks for the answer.

Turns out I was able to play with the capture settings in FCP – and it’s not batch capturing.
