There appears to be a nice feature in the new Basic Title, Fill With Texture. I say “appears” because I haven’t been able to get it to work yet. I added a Basic Title, and in the Inspector, selected Face > Fill With > Texture. The controls include a Source Media Well. Click on the well, and you get “Selecting Source Clip” and a split screen to show you choice and the title in the Viewer. When I select a source clip, the dialogue closes, but nothing happens. Bug? Or perhaps not fully implemented yet. There is nothing in the Help file on Fill With Texture. At least not that I could find. I’ve already submitted a Bug report to Apple.

Have you found any solution to this yet?

This is still not working. Thanks for the reminder. I haven’t look at this since January. It appears that 10.0.5 did not fix this. In the basic title or basic lower third (Edit > Connect Title) the Face options are: Colour, Fill With Gradient and Fill With Texture. Fill With Gradient and Fill With Colour work. Fill With Texture does not work.
