Basic Question…but I’m stumped
I’m trying to create an effect with this logo…

I want the name to appear first in black, and then the black box to come in and create the white effect on the text.
I’m sure this is a simple technique, but I’m stumped. Any quick help would be most appreciated!

One way would be to use a white shape layer with its layer blending mode set to difference.
