  • basic question about masking

i need create a mask to isolate a moving figure out of the background and i need the mask to move to match the movement of the figure.

example: isolate an image of hand opening and closing and set against a black background.

there’s a lot of movement within the frame and of the frame itself so i haven’t had much luck using the motion tracker. i’ve also tried to go through and use the pen tool to mask out the image but i haven’t been able to figure out how to lock in the adjustments to each frame while altering the mask on the next frame

i’m sure this is a easy fix for somebody a little more savvy than myself, but any help would be appreciated

Here’s a good place to start: “Rotoscoping introduction and resources”.
