  • Basic Batch Audio Rendering Question

Posted by Linda O’connell on November 11, 2015 at 11:54 am

I have seen a lot of detailed information on batch rendering here..but nothing about the basic way of doing it.

I have an audio track that I want separated into different files. I have marked them but every time I chose the option it just renders as one complete file.

    My questions are:
Do I mark the selections with a “M” or “N”?
Do I highlight the entire selection?
I am going to Tools, Scripting, Batch Rendering, MP3 128Kbps…do I chose Render project or render selection? It does not give me an option for render regions
Or am I totally off and should be doing this a different way?
I do not care about the names of the files.

I know I am missing something simple here..but have tried everything 5 different ways! Thanks in advance.

Mark your selections with an “r” (region) and try it again.

It allows me to mark one region with an “R” but then the option doesn’t work..it’s grayed out.
I should be marking each audio song, correct?
Not the entire track? Otherwise how will it know where to divide?

Mark each and every separate section with an “r” and you should be good to batch render.

Not to be annoying…but why is the “R” grayed out? It doesn’t allow me to anymore than 1.

Update: figured it out…I had the track highlighted that’s why it wouldn’t work.

    Thanks for your help!

You need to double click each selection to highlight it and then press “r”. You should be able to do this as many times as needed.

    I think I got up too early…
Got the R’s figured out…each song is separated by an R
But still rendering as one track.

    I am choosing: Batch Render
    MP3 128 kbps

Do you highlight? Do I chose Render project/regions etc?

I figured it would be render regions but it’s still giving me one track.
I don’t mean to be annoying but been working on this for an hour and can’t figure it out.

You didn’t get up too early. I just tried it using the suggestions I’ve made and your template and I only get one file as well. This in spite of the fact that I can see it rendering each separate region 🙁

Got it!! You have to name each region first. Then do your batch render and then it works 🙂

Ok..update again. I figured it out!
It is very important to double click (like you had said) to select the region. When you do, each region will say 1/2 then 2/3 etc.
I was just hitting the “R” button so it just came up with 1/1 2/2 and that doesn’t work.

Just posting this so someone else may not have to struggle like I did.

    Thanks for your help John!
