  • Barry Green’s DVX Book for HVX 200?

Posted by Lawrence Marshall on February 9, 2006 at 11:17 pm

Will Barry Green’s DVX Book and DVX DVD suffice as a starting point for getting familiar with the HVX 200? Other than the P2 section and HD recording, are the two cameras similar enough (menus, physical controls, features, etc.) that Barry’s book will provide a good orientation and explanation that would also apply to the HVX? (need something now and can’t wait for Barry’s new and improved edition for the HVX!)

    Thanks, Larry Marshall

Definitely a start in the right direction as far as color and detail stuff. The DVD is also very useful in the explanation of the color and gamma curves. Now of course the gamma curves are different on the HVX but relative.

    Hope this helps,

It’s a start, and the HVX has some very familiar DVX-like features. The HVX is a superset of the DVX.

There will be a new The HVX Book/DVD available fairly soon. The book’s out to the proofreaders now, and the DVD should be finished up by the end of this month.

Get the most from your DVX camera. The DVX Book and DVX DVD are now available on ebay and at Amazon (https://www.fiftv.com/db)

[Barry Green] “DVD should be finished up by the end of this month.”

Was it all shot with the HVX? -:)
