Bar Colors???
Hey everyone. So i just got sony vegas, and i’m finally learning how to do a little bit. My question is, on my online trial version, when you dragged a clip around and it came close and connected with another clip, a COLORED bar would pop up and stop you momentarily, letting you know that it was in the right spot. Now i purchased the full version from frys, and came home installed it and now those bars don’t pop up…..and the clips move freely….causing it harder to judge the position. What is the setting to turn on the “color bar thingy”? Thanks for the help!

I think what you’re referring to is enabled via the “Options | Enable snapping” item in the menu bar. Once snapping is enabled, you then have further options as to what you want to snap to.
THe shortcut for “enable snapping” is F8, but use the longhand way first just so you see the options you’re given.
