Banner Type Effect in Pro 9.0?
I was messing around with my Sony Vegas Pro 9.0, and I was wondering if there’s a way to modify the size of a frame. The effect I’m looking for is to have a main clip running with a different clip running in a memory like state in the top of the screen. I’d even settle for just running it in a corner. I already know how to apply black and white and opacity, as well as position the frame. My only problem is sizing the frame to a desired point.
Is there any way to do this? If it involves masking, anyone know any good tutorials I can read up on since I am 100% inexperienced at ever using the masking feature.

Thanks, but this only shows me how to take a piece of the image, not resize an entire frame and locate it elsewhere. I think I’ll combine this with the PiP tutorial I found and see if that gets me anywhere.

Derek, Pan/Crop is not only for cropping.
It can be used to re-size both still images and video clips too.
All you need to do is place your cursor at any of the 4 corners and drag it outwards to shrink it.
After that, click in the middle and move it to the desired location.
Key frames can be used to have this happen over time.
The opening of any of the videos on this page is an example of using Pan/Crop to shrink and re-position a still (although it could easily be a video clip), in this case the logo.Track Motion can also be used to move a video clip but you need to know that it affects everything on the track being used.

Maybe there’s too much noise going on in the background, but I can’t seem to figure there’s a way to do what I’m intending. I can not use the entire frame for what I am seeking. I need to cut out part of the frame, resize the remaining frame, adjust the opacity to roughly 35% and move it to a different section of the video as to emulate memories running through the mind of the subject of the main track. I was able to do this easily in Adobe Premiere a couple years ago using a PiP function, I just didn’t have opacity controls in Adobe’s Trial.

Just an update, my Current attempt is going to be taking each clip I need, Cutting what I plan to use out of it, cropping and the like, and Rendering it as it’s own new clip. I then will import the newly rendered clips and size and position them with the pan/crop effect in the main project. I’m new to going into levels of detail that would require me to make multiple videos to achieve a final product. I typically avoid that considering re-rendering already rendered clips tends to result in reduced quality, however; seeing as this is a test creation since I can’t find the clips I want in a High quality, it will have to suffice. Thanks for the help.
