    Hi,

I’ve been editing 10-bit video for commercials on Final Cut Pro for almost two years now, mostly delivering via BetaSP, DigiBeta or other tape formats. Now we are in the process of migrating to an all-digital delivery system, and I am having problems I’ve never had before.

The biggest problem I am seeing is banding/interlacing. I’m assuming that once the video gets delivered to tape, it smooths out the jagged edges from the interlacing, but now I’m delivering MPEG digital video files, the banding is pretty noticable.

Is there a way in Final Cut to clean up the banding without slapping on a blur/deinterlacer/grain filter? I want the picture to remain as clear as possible, but still remove the banding problems. What’s the ideal solution?

    Thanks!
