Bad playback after burn
I’m having a strange problem I’ve never seen before. I’ve built a project like I always do and played the preview in Encore. It plays back fine. When I burn the DVD it plays back with staggering on some shots. I’ve tried burning it in different burners and played back on there different machines. The project started out in AVID then to ProCorder for the compression and then to Encore. Any ideas?

Hi – Here’s my guess. If the motion is bad, it indicates that the MPEG was rendered on the wrong field first. If you’re using Sorenson Squeeze, check the settings. It’s not a machine problem. The answer lies somewhere in your settings in the workflow.

You are right. It was in the settings. I finally found the problem. I had done a 16 X 9 version of the project earlier and failed to reset the size in the Quick Time to 4 X 3. It’s sometimes amazing how many times you can look at something and not see a small error! Thanks for the response.
