    Hey everybody!

I am using After Effects CS5.5
I have finally created my first composition which is like a small explosion which flares up, but the only problem is, my method of adding it to video footage (on After Effects) must be wrong, as I always get the rectangular black canvas come up with the explosion.

Can someone point me in the right direction of being able to add a composition to video footage without the black background appearing with it? Like some kind of cut-round tool, or making the black background invisable?

    Help will be much appreciated!
