AY-DVMCLA Head cleaner. Correct?
Is this the proper head cleaner to use for the HVX200?

Sure that would work fine. Remember the DV deck is used only to hold a blank tape so that when the cops ask you for your filming permit you can hand it over. Shoot HD to P2 always. 🙂

Nice! I’ll remember that when I shoot the debauchery that ensues when a certain and not very well respected government higher up comes to my fair city tomorrow for a ‘fundraiser’.
In all seriousness, this particular project they want to run a ‘B’ camera with DV while the other HVX shoots 720p. I have gone back and forth about why not to do this, but I can’t convince them. There’s one producer who will be managing the media for two weeks on location and he only wants to deal with one set of cards, and not two. What a bummer. He’s yella, I tell ya, yella. Luckily, I don’t have to post this one so that nightmare is out of my hands and into theirs.

Definitely a poor move, the 720 could easily be downcoverted to DV and that’s simple. If down the road, someone wants the B-camera’s DV to match the A-camera’s 720 you’ll be in for a lot more work trying to upconvert DV to 720p than vice versa. But if you’re just the gun for hire don’t sweat it too much.

So that’s it! I knew there had to be a reason they put the dv transport in there and what a great idea…. pure genious! I bet it would work too.
