    Hello,

Just bought and installed an Avid Film Composer V7.2…evrything works fine apart from the Audio card – it is not recognized??? Also in the digitize tool my highest resolution is only AVR9s – why is this? How can change it? (surely it should go up to AVR 77?)

Any help or guidance is much appreciated….

    Thanks

    Tay.

Whew, that testing the old memory banks….

I don’t think AVR77 showed up until later – I think the highest resolution available was AVR25 or AVR27 – could be wrong though.

Check your settings and make sure you don’t have ‘drive filtering based on resoution” checked… I don’t remember where it was in that version – maybe media creation???

Do you have documentation with your system? Are you running the correct OS? You should be able to still get it at Apple…

As far as the audio card – I don’t know. Is it the original card, or after market? Avid’s from that period were notoriously picky (yes, more than now!) regarding what was plugged in where.

Hi – thanks for response –

Avid Film Composer does definately support AVR77 – just double checked documentation guides on Avid website…tried drive filtering option – still no success??? Seems odd? Dont have original documentation unfortuneatly…would it have anything do with the fact I only have two 9GB avid drives (16gig formatted) connected??? I wouldnt have thought so – unfortunately dont have any info regarding Audio card….

    Cheers

    Tay

You say 16gb formatted – are they striped? I seem to recall you needed striped drives (and I believe an Avid drive utility) to do 77. It might be in a folder called ‘utilities’ on the hard drive…
