avoiding screen burn-in with motion menu
I’m making a DVD for a museum installation, and I want to avoid any possibility of damaging their screens by having the same image in the same place forever.
Although menus can be mobile, it’s my understanding that the mobile buttons have to “land” on a certain spot, and stay there, in order to be activated. Is that true? If so, I need another way to prevent screen burn-in.
What do you think of this work-around: create Menu Screen 1, which has one totally invisible button, with a video that changes constantly and loops forever. Include in the motion video a suggestion like “Please press PLAY on your remote to begin.”
Then go to Menu Screen 2, which doesn’t even have to be a motion menu, because it will time out and go back to Menu Screen 1, if nobody makes a selection.
Comments are welcome!
Thanks.
