Avid tutorials for Final Cut users
Hey all, so I’m a final cut editor looking to learn avid editing as well and since I don’t have the money for the avid classes, I was hoping to at least get the basics down with a tutorial book. I did buy one already (Avid Editing: A Guide for beginning and intermediate users), but it’s really frustrating, as its written for people who have never edited before. I am wondering (and I have done some googling and come up with nothing) if there is a book for final cut editors moving to avid. any help would be appreciated!

I have a book, “Final Cut Pro for Avid Editors”. You would just have work backwards. This might be helpful.

I have that same book and it’s a good one. However, I did take licensed Avid classes back in 04′ up to the intermediate level so I already had a base of knowledge to work from (90% of my work now is in FCP) – I just had to step back into the Avid world for a tv show and found that book to be a great refresher…

You can go to avids site and look on the forum. There are a number of tut by a member dealing with Avid basics. Its not a FCP to Avid type of tutorials but it could help get your head around how MC works.
