    Hello,

Is there an easy way to move a project + media on one computer, across a network, to another computer? Then be able to open/edit the project on the other computer?

Is there an export setting or something? Or do I have to manually copy the files I need? I’m going from Avid Express Pro 5.6 to Avid Express Pro 5.7

    Thanks,
    Nate

You could try consolidating. I’m not in front of my machine right now, so the details are a bit fuzzy… You could consolidate your footage, then copy the project files over…

There are two ways to do this.

    Brute force and ‘elegant’

The brute force way is to just copy the OMFI/Avid MediaFiles folder + the project to the target machine.

The problem here, is that you get EVERYTHING, not just your one project.

The elegant way to do this is to go to the original machine, open the media tool, select all the clips and choose consolidate and to make a copy to a target drive.

Then copy the project over (manually, at the desktop level) and when you get to the new machine, relink.
