    Greetings,

When exporting an audio file from the AVID Media Composer 1000 (v. 12.0.5) to AE 6.5 (installed on different workstation both running OSX), the audio plays back at a lower level. I just tried a test in which I exported the AVID’s default reference tone (1000 Hz@-20.0 dB) in the three available audio file formats (.aiff, .wav, and SD2). In AE, the playback level was the same for each file, low. During audio playback in AE, shouldn’t the VU meters be moving during preview? (In this case, I realize the VU meter won’t be moving due to tone playback). Basically, Is there a way to calibrate audio within AE? Would you suggest I tried various tone file exports from the AVID?

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
