Avid Stereoscopic 3D Plug-Ins? Resize/Stabilize/etc?
Working on a 3D project in Avid 4.0 with our dailies in L/R (side/side). We are looking for Avid effects/plug-ins that will allow us to control each eye individually without creating some deep set of effects layers using the conventional 2D effects. Is there a set of plugins either on a new version of Avid or from a 3rd-party developer that will allow us to apply one effect and be able to manipulate both eyes? Thanks.

There are no tools or plug-in at this point to do individual eye control for frame packed stereo 3D (same frame containing both eyes).

Look into Neo3d by Cineform. They have a workflow to work with Avid, including convergence and color adjustments with a stereo file….and it also retains full frame left eye / full frame right eye. It’s a fantastic product.
It’s not a plug-in, it’s a standalone app.
Your main problem: it uses Quicktime, which Avid 4.0 cannot use via the AMA QT plugin architecture in MC 5.
So, you would need to upgrade to Avid 5 AND buy Neo3D ($3000)
