  • Avid Source and Video monitor will not play video

Posted by Adam Davis on May 15, 2009 at 6:44 pm

    Hey guys,

I am fairly new to Avid and brand to this site. I am working on Avid Media Composer and I am having an issue playing back video in my Source and Record monitor. It plays in the TV Monitor and I hear audio, but nothing in the Source or record plays it just remains still on the current frame. I am guessing it is a simple setting I need to change, but no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Adam

    Adam –

Make sure you have no window overlapping the source/record monitors.

Making sure no overlapping monitors is a good idea.

What type of system are you on. Mac or PC. Are you software only, or do you have Avid hardware. Describe it if you do not know what it is.

This will help. I would bet you have an improper version of the video driver if on pc. Go under c:program filesAvidUtilites and install the latest Nvidia driver. Reboot and try again.
