Sorry, I’m sure this question has been asked before…

I’m supposed to work on a project that was created on an Avid.

What is currently possible with regards to bringing avid projects into FCP? I’m sure not everything will translate. Just wondering what the best process is to allow me the most flexibility with continuing the edit.

    Thanks very much in advance!!!

Automatic Duck imports an Avid OMF or AAF file.

But you will have to recapture the media. We have done this successfully on over 60 episodes of HD programming.

    Thanks guys,

Everything is being sent to me in Seattle from LA. As far as recapturing media…they were going to send a hard drive with the project and all related media. Will that do the trick?

    Thanks again!

I’ve never done it this way. Some Avid codecs might work, others tend to crash FCP. I would not take an Avid project without the raw tapes.
