Avid Offline to FCP online – audio question
I read somewhere that OMF and MFX files are pretty much interchangeable, but that I should check with the audio department of the post-house to determine the file format of the audio files. The post-house person wasn’t able to answer my question, so I’m hoping someone out here will.
I’m working on a Mac G5 with Xpress Pro 5.8. I plan on digitizing both audio and video as MFX files. Audio will be at 48kh and video will be 15:1. The online is on an FCP system using ProTools for audio. The online people told me they would need an accurate export of the Avid sequence (in OMF 2.0)for the audio files.
My question is: will I encounter any problems in getting the Avid audio MFX file into FCP protools? Or should I be saving it as an OMF file?
