Avid Media Composer and Maverick 10.9 windowing problem
Hi all,
THose of you that have installed Maverick 10.9 … IF you are having issues with windows not working properly …
The fix at the moment is to open System Preferences, click Mission Control, and turn off ‘Displays Have Separate Spaces’. Mavericks ships with that option on.. Then Log off , then back on … All is well then ..

Hi, you mean you manage to have Mac OSX 10.9 Mavericks and Avid Media Composer 7 working? I read from AVID Knowledge Base that they are not compatible at the moment. https://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/troubleshooting/Mac-OS-10-9-support-for-Media-Composer-Pro-Tools-Sibelius

Well I am trying to install the Avid Media Composer 7 trial into a fresh install of Mac OSX 10.9 on a iMac which previously worked when I was running 10.7
I even tried your method to turn off ‘Displays Have Separate Spaces’, but to no avail. See image.

1. you need to have 10.8 installed then install MC7 …. then upgrade to 10.9 … keeping in mind
there are a few known issues that are being solved as we speak.2. we are currently testing MC 7.0.3 which does install over 10.9 but had not been released to the general public yet.

I’ve managed to solve all windowing problems by simply mousing to the dock, clicking on the avid icon – I have to do it about once a session, but for some reason it fixes everything.
Weird.
