Avid Media Composer 5.5 on Off-the-shelf Laptop or All in One Desktop
Hi Guys,
A friend of mine needs to setup a very inexpensive system to cut a project. I was going to loan him my MC 5.5 or buy Symphony 6.0 with the NAB special and he is considering buying an off the shelf Windows 7 4gb ram PC with USB 3.0 to edit with. Any problems running Avid or Symphony on an off the shelf PC for basic hd editing?Thanks,

Problems are dependent on the exact configuration. But generally they are few, and have more to do with os, driver, software version issues.
If you’re looking to save $ check out lightworks, its free.
