Avid Media Composer 4.0 & Snow Leopard
Has Avid Media Composer become compatible with Snow Leopard? I had posted a thread about a month ago and it sounded like people were having issues with compatibility. On the Avid site it says that Snow Leopard meets system requirements: https://www.avid.com/products/Media-Composer-Software/system-requirements.asp
Just wanted to check and see if Avid made an update to 4.0 or if there are still issues out there? I’d like to upgrade my OS to Snow Leopard but not if it is going to conflict with Avid. Any insights?

The latest patch of Media Composer 4 is approved with Snow Leopard. Avid suggests you start with a fresh install of the OS, then install MC4.x. They don’t suggest you upgrade your OS then install MC4.x

Thanks! So if I decide to move to Snow Leopard I should do a complete OS reinstall. An OS upgrade will cause any incompatibility issues that may occur?

FWIW I upgraded to Snow Leopard and have had no problems so far. It might just be CYA advice (do they mention something specific?), but you never know.

Media Composer 4.0.4 has been released and is fully tested and qualified for Snow Leopard.
