    Hi CC people,

Long time peruser, first time ‘register and post’er. Having issues batch capturing using a Sony J30 on media composer 3. Every clip it comes to, it stops shuttlig to the in point about 00:01:30:00-00:02:00:00 before the inpoint. Can’t seem to find a setting inside avid to correct this or even cause this, though im only new to the nuts and bolts of it, so its probably there somewhere. Have replaced out the deck, manually configured the deck, tried different machines (adrenaline system has same prob).
Anyway, our timeframe for the uprezzing is getting smaller and smaller and this is taking away precious time and we need to sort it out. Mainly because it annoys the crap out of myself and fellow edit assist.

Also apologies if i am re-asking, i tried a few different search keyword strings to make sure i wasnt reposting an already asked query, but couldnt see anything.

Sounds like your deck isn’t set to read the proper code for what you are doing. The HDCAM decks can send different codes down the 4:2:2 control line.

thnx for responding terence, i have no idea about that but i’m going to ask the IT guys, will respond asap

    EDit:
Ok i asked, and they had no idea so i went searching in the deck config for info and saw “fast cue” unticked the box and now everything is fine.

Let this be a lesson people, do not assume anything, if someone says “yeah i’ve had a look through the config and cant see anything that could make it do that” ALWAYS look for yourself, you might see the problem where they do not. Same goes, i suppose, for if you check have someone else look too.

Chances are though if you miss it it’s not there 😉

thnx again terrence, though not the solution it did prompt me to search for myself something i should have done… 2 months ago 🙁
