  AVID MC3/Mac and Sony EX1 workflow help!

  Hi all, I’m sure everyone else who is working this system is as befuddled as I am but any help would be much appreciated.

  I have been shooting on the Sony EX1 xdcam and have tons of footage being loaded up for the edit on Avid MC with MacbookPro leopard.. We have imported using AAF as importing the MXF files direct was taking eons..
  Now however we are finding that the AAFs and MXFs aren’t directly corresponding with each other..
  the clip itself links to the AAF file and both are named the same.. but the MXF file to which both are linked has a totally different name so we are forseeing problems if anything goes offline and needs to be relinked.. any suggestions anyone re relinking aaf files to their original mxf counterparts?

  it’s very important that we can track everything as we have a lot of logging to do which will change clip names, folders etc and we have 2 edit suites working in tandem (without lanshare or unity) so everything needs to be super trackable..

  have we done the right thing going with the AAF route (it did save a lot of time!!!)
