I have a client who is having problems going to a Panasonic AJ-HD1400 deck via FW. We are doing the “crash record” digital cut and cannot lay off more than a few minutes with out failing. The system is on a zippy SATA fiber raid (we have 3 there in fact) and is just running DVCProHD. Anyone else having these problems?

Dual G5 2.0, Mojo SDI (not used here) 4GB ram, OS 10.4.6 MC 2.6.4 SATA Fibre RAID storage.

We’ll have our HD board for the Adrenaline this week so I guess this will be a moot point but I just wondered if anyone was doing this workflow…

    What is the error?

You know you can’t assembly cut with firewire with Avid right?

Project type? I don’t think the deck can take 720/23.976p via firewire.

My post says “crash record” as the Avid only allows that over FW. But thanks for the reply. I know I’m gonna see this elsewhere.

We are seeing a variety of errors. Underruns, for one which may be related to Processor (we are using mostly dual G5’s) as we have pretty dang speedy drives. I’ll run the test on a Quad that we have on deck and then, like I said, the HD board should be here from Tweaksbury today…
