Avid MC 5.5.3 on a PC Unable to stop SprngBuf’s FillThread
I’ve been messing with this problem for months. But today I found out its related to DNX files. So maybe that will help.
Just finished a project with xdcam footage and I never had an error until I mixed down some video to a DNX file and added it to the timeline. I get the error with or without the adrenaline enabled. I can work for a while, but once I get the error, it pops up again every few times I try to play. Also, once the error occures, I get a little red line above the timeline, signifying the drive wasn’t fast enough. However, the video is coming from SAS raid with fast enough drives- see aja test below. And the drives play the xdcam footage and they work perfectly when playing footage in Adobe premiere.
I have re-installed the NVIDA drivers and QuickTime.
The sprngbuf error is always followed by “Exception:desktopSFConsumer::PlayStreamingFrame premature end of stream”
My System
Avid MC 5.5.3
Video Driver is 190.38
Windows 7 is service pack 1
i7 Dual – dual core 2.93 processors (4 total)
12 gig ram
Quicktime is 7.6.9 (1680.9)
NVIDIA FX1800

Here’s the stats from AJA system test on 1 gb file HD. The only thing that seems odd and is a little concern is that a few of the reads are slow. Like there’s a 6.0 and a 4.7 but the average shows 321 Write and 319 read.
