    Having trouble with one of our Avid Symphony’s at work.
    One of the machines keeps creating ha media folders.

    Avid MediaFiles – > MXF – > 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

    I know Avid creates a new folder every 2,500-5,000 files. But these folders are all under 5,000 files.
    Some of them only have 200-500 files.

    Any ideas on how to stop this?

    How is the media drive formatted?

    the drive is formatted NTFS

    the media is on an Avid Unity. This one computer creates new media folders on all workspaces (partitions)

    Check your folders permissions. If Avid senses it to me read only, it will have to create a new folder.

    They are all “read and write” folders

    Weird problem. Call Avid tech support and see what they say. Do you have a support contract? It’s really a must, with a Unity system, as debugging and troubleshooting can be a bit of a bear for most regular humans.
