avid export
I am getting an error message when I try to export a sequence using the same as source setting. I have used this many times before so I don’t understand the error. I am using quicktime movie. The error is “Unable to export the bin. Exception: Parameter error! This export format may require audio or video tracks.” The tracks are selected and i have tried all settings that I can. It will exportt using compression settings. I want to use the highest quality possible. Any sugestions?

Does your sequence have any mixed formats or sample rates?

Thanks for the response Michael. I have tried sequences with straight cuts and no effects at all. I get the same error. I can export with compression settings but I can see stepping and tearing on the DVD’s. I don’t know if that’s from the camera (Canon GL2 set to SP and auto settings) or from the MySonic DVD software but I’m disappointed with the quality.

I’ve seen similiar things. You might check your export settings and see if “use marks” and “use enabled tracks” are set. If so either uncheck the options or set an in/out point from begining to end of your sequence and double check to make sure that all your tracks that you want exported are enabled.

I might be stating the obvious, but make sure that you are exporting the sequence by making sure that the timeline window is active, before going to file/export….since it might actually be attempting to export the contents of a bin.

I’ve tried all of those things. I might have a virus affecting the avid software. I’m getting an Avidstartup error when I boot the machine. Just a guess. It works when I use the Sorenson compression but not when I use the same as source settings. I might have to reload the software to see if this fixes it but I have projects I need to finish first. What is the best quality for using in DVD creation?
