Avid DNx145
Posted by James Whittington on December 1, 2010 at 12:44 amHello…
I was given some QTs that didn’t seem to have audio when I opened them. I was then told I would need to download Avid DNx145 as well as Avid Meridian codecs.
I’ve been trying to figure this out and found this thread…
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/955395
Tried the last link and downloaded the codecs package but still can’t get the audio to play on these QTs.
Any help?
Thank you!!!

QT 7 or X? Have you tried QT7?

December 1, 2010 at 5:46 pmI’ve tried both 7 and X.
The guy who made the QTs specifically mentioned DNx145 and Meridian. When I look in the the Quicktime folder in my hard drive library I see a bunch of Avid codecs now but not those two. Are these available in a different package?
Thanks for the help!

What do you see? It says that it includes DNxHD and Meridian.

December 1, 2010 at 6:02 pmYou have them all. If you can see video, then you have the codec.
In QT if you get info on the file, what does it say next to “Format:”?

The apple lossless surprised me…doesn’t seem like I would need an avid codec for that?

No. Seems like the files you have aren’t the proper format.
Anything about audio?

December 1, 2010 at 6:38 pmI think I may just have to track down the original creator and get some new QTs.
I’ve tried downloading various codecs. Opened them in QT, Final Cut, After Effects, MPEG Streamclip, VLC…nothing reads any audio.
