    what?
you kiddin? Adrenaline is my issue. It’s a phat lie to this day.
bastardized Media Composer. I assume it’s their attempt to force us to DS. I don’t like the big downgrade. Most of us who had real media composers or symphonies miss having an Avid. Thier creative advertising has made more enemies than the ole mac bitchslap of ’98.

    Great summation.

Can we ever expect Tim Wilson to weigh in on any of this?

I guess I should do a search in this forum for Adrenaline issues but I dont think I will find anything.

What are the issues with Adrenaline? The only big issues I have noticed with some of the new stuff is that the function that selects where you put media and render it is screwed up.

Other then that , I am not kidding I dont know…

    Thanks

they’v been listed quite a bit by many users but sales peope get rilly fussy here when I list em out.
it’s buggy, clunky with firewire, useless with HDV, not DVD author-friendly (ya have to mix it all down first),has superbins (why are these super?), has trouble rendering the effects it’s shipped with but fine with sapphire (maybe it’s not shipped with the proper pugins?), and overall stil not ready for a version 1 release. Most of us still owe more on em than they are worth. While I use to crash maybe monthly with a meridien system, it’s now daily. There are a million and one things I have to baby with it while dancing on eggshells tying to avoid the next crash. Adrenaline sells FCP setups, straight up.

    Thanks.

I guess I should mention that after over seven years with Avid I started using V1 of FCP and now, seven years latter I would rather use FCP for cutting and Avid for EFX.

So, I really don’t care what Avid does, when I cut on it, which I do 2 to one more than FCP I simply expect the same old thing. I don’t look for a feature boost or anything new, just the same old reliable Avid.

I see your point about crashing, there was a day, early on with MC that it was a crash King. I guess you know all about that.

    Thanks

ya know, honestly, back in te olden daze our MC only crashed when using photoshop plugins in it (yes, it utilized them). It was on a quadra 840. I’d se up a reder on a friday afternoon and hope it was done without crashing come monday. I’d haveto pop in a time or two over the weekend to check. Same with 3D work. The same box held strata studio pro and ‘d have to render over the weekend. Also toted CoSa After Effects. yeah! CoSa afer effects v1.0!
I loved Avid back then and only grew to love em more as their products advanced better and faster than anyone elses.
aaah the good ole days. I am hoping it can happen again.

To tell you the truth, it never crossed my mind that this topic would come up in The COW, so I haven’t been looking.

Anybody who wants to chat should feel free to call any time.
